On Wednesday, December 3rd The Counseling Center at Yorktown Heights is co-sponsoring the 21st Annual Conference "When The Holidays Aren't So Happy", with Student Assistance Services Corporation and Four Winds Hospital. The topic this year is "Clinical Strategies for Assessing and Intervening with Depressed and Substance-Abusing Youth".
This is a conference for professionals who will be provided with clinical strategies for assessing depression and intervening, as well as treating depressed/substance-abusing teens and young adults. Up to 5.5 CASAC and CPP hours were applied for, and there are workshop options including "BULLYING, DEPRESSION, & SUBSTANCE ABUSE: CLINICAL CONNECTIONS" or "FAMILY TREATMENT STRATEGIES FOR DEPRESSED & SUBSTANCE ABUSING YOUTH".
The event will be at the Abigail Kirsch Tappan Hill Mansion, at 200 Gunpowder Lane in Tarrytown, New York. The conference runs from 8 am until 3:15 pm, and lunch is provided. Registration is at this Eventbrite link.
